Booking terms

These apply to every booking at Murphy's Cellar, whether you book online, over the phone or at the door.

Changing or cancelling

Change or cancel your booking up to 24 hours before your start time, using the change/cancel button in your booking confirmation. If you cannot find it, contact us and we will sort it out for you.

Bookings that include food

If your booking includes food or a pre-ordered menu, changes and cancellations need to reach us at least 7 days before your visit. After that, the booking is charged in full.

If your group changes size

Update the number of guests in your booking as soon as you know it has changed. We will always try to fit extra people in, but we cannot guarantee space beyond what you have booked.

Visits that are not cancelled

A booking that is not cancelled in time is charged in full, whether or not the group turns up.

Arriving late

Please arrive in good time. Sessions run one after another, so a late start makes your own session shorter rather than the next group's.

House rules

A few things we ask of everyone, so every group gets the night they came for — yours included.

Looking after each other

Everyone is welcome downstairs and we intend to keep it that way. Aggressive, abusive or discriminatory behaviour ends a visit: our team can ask anyone to leave, and a booking ended that way is not refunded.

Follow the briefing

Every activity starts with a safety briefing from our team. Following it, and anything else they ask of you during the session, is part of taking part.

Age limits

Some activities have a minimum age. Guests under 18 are welcome with an adult who stays with them for the whole visit. If you are booking for younger players, check with us first and we will tell you what suits.

Alcohol and ID

We operate Challenge 25, so bring photo ID if you look under 25. We do not serve alcohol to anyone under 18 or to anyone who has had enough, and guests who are clearly drunk cannot take part in the activities. Food and drink brought in from outside cannot be consumed on the premises.

What to wear

Comfortable clothes and flat, closed shoes you can move quickly in, especially for Laser Tag and Prison Island.

Health and accessibility

If you are pregnant, have a medical condition or an injury, or have reduced mobility, talk to us before you book. We would rather help you pick the right activity than turn anyone away on the night.

Equipment and damage

The kit takes a fair amount of use and is built for it, but damage caused deliberately or through misuse is charged to the person responsible.

Your belongings

Keep valuables with you. We cannot take responsibility for items lost, damaged or left behind, though we will always help you look.

Gift vouchers

An unused gift voucher can be returned within 14 days of you receiving it.

What each voucher covers, and how long it is valid for, is shown in the voucher store before you buy and again on the voucher itself.

Your personal data

We keep the details you give us so we can give you the service you expect: confirming your booking, reminding you about it, and letting you know about any change or cancellation.

We may also send you news and offers from Murphy's Cellar. Every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and using it stops them without affecting your bookings.

Personal data is handled securely and in line with UK data protection law.
